We all seriously need to get our legs above our heads more often. Get your mind out of the gutter; I’m talking about a yoga pose here.
The yoga pose is called Viparita Karani AKA legs-up-the-wall pose!
Think about it, we are on our feet all. day. long.
Working, running errands, at the gym, cooking… the list goes on and on. We need to give our bodies a break. If you’re doing yoga on the reg, I applaud you. But the rest of us that don’t do it on a daily basis really need to start doing this super simple pose. Check it-
All you have to do is skootch your butt close to a wall and then raise your legs up so that your heels are resting on the wall. If your lower back feels uncomfortable, put a folded blanket on the ground beneath your back. Spread those toes and start taking deep breaths from your stomach (this is called diaphragmatic breathing). Rest your arms on your stomach or by your sides.
Stay in this pose for 10 minutes. Meditate, oil pull, or just lay there. Do this pose every day whenever you have 10 minutes to kill. I personally like doing it right before I go to bed.
